Symbols of Technology

For the background around our Technology horse we decided to use lots of color and symbols. We chose technology symbols and we are using watercolor to paint them in bright colors which will contrast with our black horse filled with bits of technology.

Being Creative

The students of DCMS love to create! This project is just one example of how they can work together to creatively come up with how to complete the project. Watching them work together is the fun part.

Smashing Technology is fun!

In order to get to all the neat wires and other stuff you have to break it apart. The students loved this part!

Mrs. Witty, Librarian makes a donation!

We asked Mrs. Witty, our librarian to be on the lookout for pieces of technology that we could use on our banner and she came through for us with a box of technology that no longer was working. PERFECT for our banner!

Painting the Base Coat!

Drakes Creek Middle School is joining with other middle schools around the state of Kentucky to create artistic Banners to welcome the National Middle School Association to Louisville for the 38th Annual Conference and Exhibit. We are so proud to be a part of this project! The students in 5th period Exploratory Art are leading the way by deciding on the design and how to include as many students, teachers and staff at our school as possible. One of the ideas we had was to incorporate technology in our design. (Sam's idea!) Since we are going to be using metal parts and wire we decided to paint the base coat of the horse design black.
